Polo Park Middle School

Polo Park Middle School:

Theme: Building a Bridge to the Future.

The School was design based on the academic house concept. This 5 building, 2-story school is 190,763 s.f. with 1,449 student stations. The concept of the school was to create a community type atmosphere  bridging the buildings together for shared resources. In addition the school utilizes the “academic house” teaching concept. Each “house” includes a social studies, science, mathematics and language arts classroom. The labs for home economics, skills development, art and business development as well as the cafeteria and P.E. areas are easily assessable from all areas of the school. The courtyard area includes a raised platform stage for outdoor performances and group functions. The fully developed 25-acre site includes softball, baseball and soccer fields, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts and a running track.
